Missing The Girl
04:18
|
|||
There's a half moon tonight
and it's as still as it could be
and all of the stars are glistenin' above.
Oh, but alas, it's just for me.
I know that there's someone
who's lookin' up there too.
But if only a shooting star
could bring me right next to you.
How I wish for someone
on these nights so alone
and I know I can't let this go on.
But I'm still missing, missing the girl.
Now I got an eye out for someone new.
Make these evenings right.
A someone special to hold onto
in the soft moonlight.
I won't let love slip so soon,
not a glance, not a touch, not tonight.
No, I'm not lettin' me miss you.
'Round about midnight,
wrapped up so tight in my arms,
underneath the Big Dipper
darling, that's right where you belong.
There ain't a moment to waste.
Don't care what people say
I better get you 'fore you up and get gone.
Oh baby, I'll be waiting till I find you missing girl.

Christmas Alone
05:42
|
|||
Asleep in New Mexico.
Been driving all day through the Texas snow
thinkin' 'bout how you're supposed to be here with me.
Looking for signs in the stars.
Bethlehem's one of 'em and so is my heart:
the one there that's all set apart where our's used to be.
I wanted to take ya to see my folks home,
to hold you and kiss you 'neath some fake mistletoe,
and slow dance to nothin' while the Christmas tree glowed
but I'm sad 'cause I'm fixin' to spend one more Christmas alone.
Maybe you got someone new.
Some other fella who could lasso the moon
and tugged it down just as soon as I's gone.
I can hear the interstate hum
carols of passin' onto Christmas to come
but not a word will get sung of you comin' along.
I wanted to take ya to see my folks home,
to hold you and kiss you 'neath some fake mistletoe,
and slow dance to nothin' while the Christmas tree glowed
but I'm sad 'cause I'm fixin' to spend one more Christmas alone.
I'm sad 'cause I figure I'll spend every Christmas alone.

Last First Kiss
04:45
|
|||
That's the last first kiss for me.
That's the last first kiss for me
And the fragile pieces start to fall in place.
That's the last first kiss for me.
What's beginning I can't see
But there's something there beyond the eye.
Sunset hiding, half-moon rising, cold wind, summers air
Taste and whisper, touch remember, stillness made aware.
But if you want something more than me that I can't be
Let me go 'cause my heart's breaking, now, as we speak.
I can't change the past or who I am, what I've done or haven't found
And every fault stuck between all the things I do
But if you want all there is to me then please
Love me.
Now you're waiting for a change.
Now you're waiting for a change
As the mind begins to race to something new.
Now you're waiting for a change
'Cause the kisses ain't the same
But it's slow to make it past that line.
Love me.
